Lateralus Pentester v2.0: Engine Rewrite, Four New Modules, Developer Edition

April 23, 2026 pentesterv2.0releasesecurity

Lateralus Pentester v2.0 is the biggest release since launch. The scan engine is rewritten on top of channels and effects, four new modules ship, async fan-out benchmarks at 10,000 concurrent targets, and we're announcing the Developer Edition — free copies for proven contributors.

◉ Engine Rewrite

The entire scan core is rebuilt on ltl-channels and the new effect system. Modules no longer call kernel APIs directly; they declare effects, and the runtime sandboxes them. A network-only module cannot read the filesystem, even if an exploit within that module tries to. Run Pentester on LateralusOS v1.2 and the kernel enforces it too.

◉ Four New Modules

◉ 10,000 Concurrent Targets

We benchmarked the new fan-out on a single 8-core box against 10,000 distinct scan targets. Completed in 38 seconds with default module settings. The syntax stays the same: targets |=> scan.

◉ Developer Edition — Free for Proven Contributors

If you're a working security researcher, exploit developer, or pipeline-native tooling author, and you want to build inside Pentester — modules, exploit templates, evasion signatures, CVE integrations — we will issue you a free Developer Edition. Full entitlement, developer token, write access to the module sandbox, direct line to the maintainers.

It is not a free tier. It is a working-partnership license that expects shipped work. Apply on the pentester page.

◉ New TUI

Completely reworked terminal UI — live module status, pipeline visualization, hotkey-driven pivot between targets, findings, and evidence. Works over SSH; plays nice with tmux; doesn't fight with your terminal's color scheme.
